President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the visiting U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad, the Presidential press service said.
The parties discussed the ways to further strengthen Uzbek-American ties, as well as the international and regional issues and assessed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation to resolve the situation in Afghanistan.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev underscored that Uzbekistan attaches great importance to the development of traditionally good-neighborly relations with Afghanistan, and advocates the establishment of peace, stability and for practical efforts to the economic reconstruction of Afghanistan.
