The two-way trade volume between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan in 2018 surpassed US$ 302 million, a 70% increase to the last year, . These data were mentioned at a bilateral meeting of foreign ministers in Moscow on the sidelines of the meeting of the of CIS Foreign Ministers Council, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

Uzbekistan Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers/Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov discussed the state of the bilateral ties.

The two ministers also exchanged views on the international and regional affairs, in particular the cooperation within the framework of the chairmanship of Turkmenistan in the CIS in 2019.
