The Surkhandarya province governor Bakhodir Pulatov has been fired, a source in the government told the Tashkent Times.
According to the source, on April 1, the Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov visited the Surkhandarya province to inspect the progress of preparations for the International Bakhshi Folk Festival, which will be held April 5-10 in Termez. At the meeting, the PM criticized the governor for poor preparations.
The first deputy governor in charge of economy and entrepreneurship Tura Bobolov was appointed as interim governor.
Bakhodir Pulatov served as governor since July 2018 after Erkinjon Turdimov became the governor of Samarkand province. Before that, he worked as a prosecutor of the Tashkent province (2018), a prosecutor of the Kashkadarya province (2017–2018), a prosecutor and first deputy governor of the Fergana province.
