Uzbekistan Railways presented the metro development plan until 2025. The current length of the Tashkent metro is 36 kilometers, with construction underway of 10 kilometers of track.
The Tashkent Metro’s length will be quadrupled by 2025 to reach 157 kilometers, with 74 stations to be built, including 17 interchange stations.
The construction of new extensions and lines will be divided into 10 stages, with from 10 to 20 kilometers of track to be erected at each stage.
The new extensions and lines are:
- 13.9-kilometer-long extension from Oybek metro station via the airport to Binokor;
- 9-kilometer-long line from Fargona Yuli street, which will pass from Mashinozoslar station and up to Bektemir;
- 11.6-kilometer-long extension from Dustlik metro station through the Tashkent Business aviation airport Airport and to Yangi Shahar;
- 6-kilometer-long extension from Buyuk Ipak Yuli metro station and to the Tractor Plant;
- 17.6-kilometer-long ring-line from the Beruni metro station through the Qoraqamish, Ibn Sino, Urikzor, Izza, Hippodrome residential areas and up to Olmazor station.
