Wild dogs that look like jackals have mauled 20 sheep since March 7 in Shavat district of the Khorezm province, which borders with Turkmenistan, Xalq So’zi (transl. People’s Word) newspaper reported.

The General Prosecutor’s Office, referring to the provincial police department, said that wild dogs appeared in the area after the rush banks were burned in the neutral territory by Turkmen border guards.

On the night of March 16, one of the dogs fell into an iron trap and died. The dog was of dark gray color, with another one which ran away was reportedly white-colored.

The Shavat district police department has launched investigation into the facts of attacks. While, hunters and fishermen of the Khorezm province are preparing to begin the search for wild animals.
