Uzbek Deputy Foreign Minister, Dilshod Akhatov met with the Italian Ambassador, Andrea Bertozzi Monday, the Foreign Ministry said.
The parties reportedly discussed the current state and the ways to advance Uzbek-Italian ties, in particular in the Uzbekistan-EU format.
Also, the parties discussed the holding the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Working Group on Trade, Economic and Industrial Cooperation and Export Credits after the eight-year break.
There was also an exchange of views on the draft of the new European Union Central Asia Strategy, which is planned to be adopted before the end of this year.
The Deputy Foreign Minister Dilshod Akhatov and Ambassador Andrea Bertozzi signed the intergovernmental Program for Cultural Cooperation for 2019-2021.
The document provides for the further development of cooperation in the fields of education, including mutual access to scholarships and fellowships, as well as regular exchanges in the field of tourism, culture and art, sports, archeology, restoration, conservation and protection of cultural heritage, establishing contacts between archives, libraries and publishers.
