Uzbekistan advanced 2 places to rank 94th in the 2019 WJP Rule of Law Index which measures rule of law adherence in 126 countries worldwide. Featuring primary data, the WJP Rule of Law Index measures countries’ rule of law performance across eight factors: Constraints on Government Powers, Absence of Corruption, Open Government, Fundamental Rights, Order and Security, Regulatory Enforcement, Civil Justice, and Criminal Justice.

In the regional ranking among Eastern Europe and Central Asia region, Uzbekistan ranked 12th out of 13 only ahead of Turkey.

Among the former Soviet Union countries, the highest ranked is Georgia - 41st, Kazakhstan – 65, Belarus 66, Ukraine- 77, the Kyrgyz Republic – 85, Russia – 88.

The top three overall performers in the 2019 WJP Rule of Law Index were Denmark (1), Norway (2), and Finland (3); the bottom three were the Democratic republic of Congo (124), Cambodia (125), and Venezuela (126).
