About 410 thousand trees are planned to be planted in Tashkent city this spring, the Tashkent mayor’s office said in a statement.

Chestnut, maple, ash, oak, tulip trees, Sophora tress, and - forsythia, Japanese quince, magnolia, Syrian rose shrubs, which will interchangeably blossom throughout the year, are reportedly ready to be planted.

168.1 thousand trees and shrubs were planted last year, with green areas covering 15.2 thousand hectares of land from the Tashkent’s total area of 33 thousand hectares.

Earlier, the mayor’s office announced the launch of the Green Belt project, which will be implemented along the Tashkent ring road, where fast-growing deciduous and coniferous trees will be planted in spring and autumn.
