On December 27, Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov received the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan including the Senior Adviser to the President on Economic Affairs, Humayun Kayumi and the President’s Special Representative for development of cooperation with Central Asia and Russia, Muhammad Shakir Korgar, who arrived in our country on a visit.
The sides exchanged views on priority areas to further develop Uzbek-Afghan cooperation in the light of the agreements reached at previous high level and other meetings, the Foreign Ministry press service said.
Representatives of the Afghan President shared views on the outcomes of the late session of the Uzbek-Afghan intergovernmental commission on trade, transport and energy in Tashkent.
The sides noted that the event allowed to discuss promising areas for cooperation, including trade, transport, energy, agriculture, implementation of mutually beneficial infrastructure projects.
The meeting also discussed the schedule and agenda of upcoming contacts in 2017.
At the meeting was also present the Ambassador of Afghanistan, Saed Shahabuddin Timuri.
