The President Mirziyoyev issued a decree allowing the sale of locally produced beer and wine in regular stores, hotels and caterers. "The sale of beers and wines of domestic production can be sold by all retailers, hotels and caterers without license," the decree says.
Since 2007, alcoholic beverages, including wine and beer, could be sold only by licensed stores, which was explained by the fact that this could allow the control of quality, with stores that violated the rules of sale saw their licences revoked and were fined from 200 to 300 minimum wage (MW=200,000 UZS).
