On December 23, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Kamilov met with his Kazakh counterpart Yerlan Idrisov who arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit, a statement of the Foreign Ministry said.

The ministers discussed the advancing of bilateral affairs in the light of the agreements reached during the Uzbek-Kazakh high level contacts.

Special attention was paid to ministerial cooperation within international and regional organizations in view of the election of Kazakhstan as non-permanent UN Security Council member for the years 2017-2018.

The sides confirmed the existence of mutual interest in deepening of the dialogue in various areas and in activation of bilateral cooperation institutions. The sides underscored the closeness and coincidence of the two countries’ positions on virtually all issues.
