Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is attending the International Conference on Afghanistan in Geneva, met with the President Ashraf Ghani of Afghanistan yesterday, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The parties reportedly discussed the state and prospects of expanding the ties between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.
"The parties noted with satisfaction the upward trend of the Uzbek-Afghan ties the rise under the leadership and personal involvement of the two heads of state," the Foreign Ministry said.
Ashraf Ghani highly commended Uzbekistan’s efforts to promote peace in Afghanistan and thanked for the support and participation in the implementation of infrastructure and socio-economic projects in the country.
