President of Uzbekistan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Shavkat Mirziyoyev has ordered the start of large-scale test of military readiness of servicemen in Uzbekistan. The troops of the Ministry of Defense were alerted for drill on Monday morning.

According to the Ministry of Defense, a comprehensive test of the troops’ combat readiness will be held in four stages and last five days. To date, a test of alert on such a scale has not been carried out, the ministry said.

The drill shall check the readiness of the central apparatus of the Defense Ministry to command and control the troops, and capacity to put the troops at the highest combat readiness, as well as the readiness of troops to ingress to the specified areas, will be considered.

The drill’s main task is to test the capability of the Ministry of Defense to put troops to the highest levels of combat readiness and to promptly fulfill the assigned tasks.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the focus will be placed on the organization and keeping of continuous and sustainable command and control of troops. At all stages of tests, strict compliance with the requirements of security, safety of weapons and material means will be ensured.
