Five district mayors in the Tashkent province will not get two-month salaries for reported shortcomings in their work after Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the province on Friday, sources told the Tashkent Times.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the cotton field in Buka district and familiarized himself with the process of harvesting. He spoke with farmers and the agricultural executives and criticized some officials form lagging behind the cotton harvest schedule.
On October 13, the governor of the Tashkent province ordered that the mayors of Buka, Pskent, Chinaz and Yangiyul districts shall not be paid two-month salaries for breaching the cotton picking system. They were also warned that if the situation persists, they may lose their jobs.
