The heads of the member-states of the Commonwealth of Independent States held talks in extended format including the delegations.
They discussed a wide range of issues related to the current state and prospects for further advancing multilateral cooperation in various fields, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan said.
The meeting was followed by the signing of the Declaration of the Heads of the CIS Member States on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of December 10, 1948, the CIS Convention on Cooperation in the Field of Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Space, the Plan of Main Events for Preparation and Celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in WWII of 1941-1945, the Interstate Program of Joint Measures to Combat Crime for 2019-2023, the Agreement on Cooperation in Combating Cybercrimes and other documents. It was also decided to declare 2021 the Year of Architecture and Urban Development in the CIS.
In 2019, the Commonwealth of Independent States will be presided over by Turkmenistan.
