Mr TimothyTorlot has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Uzbekistan in succession to Mr Chris Allan who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment. Mr Torlot will take up his appointment in summer 2019, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) said in a statement.
Tim Torlot, 61, has served at the FCO since 1981, worked in several Uk's Missions in Oman, New Zealand, Chile, Iraq (Deputy Head of Mission) and Yemen (Ambassador), and occupied a number of home based FCO roles. Since 2016 to present he has been serving as head of FCO Litigation Unit at Arabian Peninsula and Iran Department.
