Senate of Oliy Majlis at its December 13 plenary session considered the issue of improvement of the activity of the upper house in the field of international relations, foreign economic links, foreign investment and tourism. Recall, on the necessity of this at a meeting on December 7 dedicated to the 24th anniversary of the Constitution, the President-elect said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In order to enhance the Parliament’s role in the implementation of foreign policy, expansion of economic cooperation, drawing foreign investments and modern technologies to Uzbekistan’s regions, development of tourism, strengthening the country's image and parliamentary control in this field, the senators decided to create a position of Deputy Chairman of the Senate.
, who served as chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs has been elected to this position, and the committee has been transformed into the Committee of International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investment and Tourism.
