Uzbek Foreign Trade Minister Jamshid Khodjaev met with the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Oreshkin in Tashkent Monday.
The parties discussed the preparations for the upcoming events - the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, the visit of the officials of the Uzbek provinces to the entities of the Russian Federation, the interregional forum and the visit of the Russian President Putin to Uzbekistan.
The parties discussed the draft five-year Economic Cooperation Program and reviewed the concept and scenario of the Interregional Forum of Uzbekistan and Russia.
During the talks, Jamshid Khodjaev proposed to enhance cooperation with the Russian specialized agencies of the export support system (Russian Export Center, RosEximbBank and ESCAR), as well as establish partnership ties between the Uzbekistan banks and the Russian VneshEconomBank.
Maxim Oreshkin supported the proposal to create wholesale distribution networks and transport-logistics hubs in the border areas of Uzbekistan and Russia. This will facilitate trade ties.
During his visit in Tashkent, Maxim Oreshkin also met with the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Kuchkarov.
