The governments of Uzbekistan and France signed an agreement on the establishment and activities of the French Development Agency (FDA) and its private sector subsidiary PROPARCO in Uzbekistan.
As the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said, the document was signed on December 8 in Hamburg following the talks between Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Kamilov and French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, Jean-Marc Herault.
The agreement defines the procedure and terms of activities of FDA, the French operator for the development assistance and PROPARCO in Uzbekistan. The document will come into force after both parties complete the necessary domestic procedures.
As it was underscored at the meeting, FDA and PROPARCO’s activities in Uzbekistan will contribute to the expansion of financial and technical cooperation between the two countries, and increase the efficiency of joint projects.
