Following the final vote count, Uzbekistan's Central Election Commission at the December 9 meeting declared that Shavkat Mirziyoev has been elected as the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the protocols of district election commissions the voter turnout at the December 4 Presidential elections was 87.73%.
According to the final election results- 15,906,724 voters or 88.61% gave their votes for the candidate of the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev.
"Thus, the candidate of the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev has become the winner of the Uzbekistan Presidential Elections held on December 4, 2016," - the CEC statement said.
The candidate of the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Hatamzhon Abdurahmonovich Ketmonov won 669,187 votes or 3.73%, the candidate of Adolat Social Democratic Party, Narimon Madzhitovich Umarov - 619,972, or 3.46% and the candidate of the Milly Tiklanish Democratic Party, Sarvar Sadullaevich Otamuratov - 421,055, or 2.35% of the votes.
The elections were held in accordance with the Constitution and the laws "On guarantees of electoral rights of citizens" and "On elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan" while ensuring the civil right for free expression of will and in respect for the principles of universal, equal and direct suffrage by secret ballot.
