The regular talks of working groups of the Joint Uzbek-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Delimitation and Demarcation of the State Border between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan were held in Turkmenistan from June 25 to July 1, 2018.
The outcomes of joint field surveys on some sections of the Uzbek-Turkmen border were reviewed during the talks.

After a long pause, the negotiations of the working groups of the two countries on the demarcation of the State Border resumed since March 2017, in line with the deals reached as part of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan, and 9 meetings have been held to date to clarify the border line on the ground.
