President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Deaf-Learning Center at the Deaf Society of Uzbekistan as part of his trip to Tashkent’s Olmazor district. The Center has been overhauled, with the concert hall for 450 people, study rooms, gyms getting equipment.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev talked with members of the society, asked about the problems and drawbacks in the sphere, and focused on training teachers for deaf and dumb children and sign language interpreters.
He instructed to draft a resolution providing for the improvement of conditions for education, training, labor, recreation and treatment of citizens of this category.
As you know, we have adopted the principle that the state should serve the people. You are also worthy members of our society. We will create all the facilities for you. Every person in Uzbekistan is dear to me, he said.
In accordance with the President’s June 11, 2018 Organizational Measures to Create Jobs for Vulnerable Segments of the Population Decree, privileges have been adopted to support businesses involving the disabled.
A sewing enterprise has been set up to this end in the territory of the Deaf Society of Uzbekistan, with over 100 women employed.
The President got acquainted with the activities of this enterprise, talked with seamstresses, adding that Government will keep up its efforts aimed at supporting the disabled and creation of jobs for them.
