Tashkent’s Almazar district criminal court announced the verdict to the previously convicted Abboskhon Khodjaev, 36, also known as Tashkent’s “crime boss” or “enforcer” and Mahamadjon Kurbanov, 36, the official of the Supreme Court Aziz Abidov said.
The court, having examined the materials, found them guilty of committing a crime under article 165, part 3 (a) (large scale extortion) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, while acquitting Abboskhon Khodjaev under clauses "a", "c" of part 2 of Article 165 (extortion committed repeatedly or by a dangerous recidivist), part 5 of Article 273 (illegal manufacturing, acquisition, storage and other actions with narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances for the purpose of sale) of the Criminal Code and Mahamadjon Kurbanov under clauses "a", "c" of Part 2 of Article 165 of the Criminal Code.
Indoind so, the court resorted to the principles of humanism and justice enshrined in the Constitution and criminal legislation, the official noted.
The court sentenced Abboskhon Khodjaev to two years in prison, and Muhammadjon Kurbanov - to one year and six months of imprisonment in prison of high-security regimen.
Khojayev was arrested in September last year. The deputy chief of the Tashkent Police Doniyor Tashkhodjaev, told that the police had information that the two detainees created a criminal organization.
Abboskhon Khojaev was charged with possession of narcotic drugs during arrest (part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code).
