President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting in Oltiariq ditrict during his Fergana trip. During which he notable criticized the fact that the Fergana province is lagging far behind the country average in terms of production of industrial goods, agricultural products, services sector, goods per capita and other areas.

We have taken on this responsible burden - to serve people and make them a little bit happier. Many problems have accumulated in Ferghana, in its economy and other spheres. In fact, that is the responsibility of the executives to find solutions. For this one must love one’s Motherland, work hard, totally dedicate oneself, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

He set out tasks aimed at improving the living standards of people by creating jobs, attracting investments and promoting entrepreneurship, in particular, he pointed out that in the province it is possible to create an additional 101 thousand jobs.

He promised to inject a minimum of US$ 100 million in loans to implement the so-called Every Family is Entrepreneur program in the Ferghana province.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also harshly criticized the chairman of the Central Council of the Youth Union Kahramon Kuranbayev.

On June 5, Kahramon Kuranbayev told reporters how he stopped a wedding cortege in Namangan and reseated the bride and groom in a taxi. This caused a wide public backlash in social networks. This followed after Shavkat Mirziyoyev called upon making more modest and less costly weddings, as the Uzbeks are renowned for making overly expensive weddings despite their earnings and the draft presidential decree aimed at making weddings less pompous. Probably Kuranbayev tried to rise to the occasion.

The public also left negative comments on his Facebook page, which led to plummeting of his rating below 2.5 out of 5 points. Later, he disabled the commentaries for the post.

I do not need lofty words and stopping wedding corteges on the roads. Instead, such youth leaders as you are, should change their mindset. Why do you think I am holding back on the decision with respect to (pompous) weddings: this does not change in one year, first you need to create an environment. Stopping wedding corteges on the pretext of the president's words is betraying him [the president]!- he said, addressing the chairman of the regional council of the Youth Union.
