Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov hosted Monday the visiting OSCE delegation led by Secretary-General Thomas Greminger, the ministry said.
Thomas Greminger and the delegation arrived in Uzbekistan are attending the conference: “International Conference on the Role of Youth in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism and Radicalization that Lead to Terrorism”, co-organized with the OSCE.
The sides confirmed their interest in continuing and developing cooperation in all three dimensions.
Thomas Greminger commended the ongoing reforms, in particular the dialogue with citizens, which have "elevated Uzbekistan to a new level of political development and have opened concrete opportunities for expanding cooperation with the OSCE.
The counterparts stressed the urgency of the theme of the conference which opened today in Tashkent, and was initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In the meeting was also present the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, John McGregor.
