The situation in Afghanistan is not becoming more stable, which allows terrorists to cross the country to neighboring countries, Russian Defense Minister, the Army General Sergey Shoygu said at talks with his Uzbek counterpart, Adbusalom Azizov in Tashkent Tuesday.

According to Shoigu, military cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan "is totally specific and very important."

"It refers, first and foremost, to the risks and threats coming from areas bordering Uzbekistan," the Russian defense minister noted. "In this regard, one cannot but point to the growing threat of international terrorism that has been moving from Syria to other countries, including Uzbekistan," he said.

"Taking into account the fact that the terrorist groups that are leaving Syria are moving to Afghanistan, the military training is of special significance" he added.

Shoygu said that Russia is ready to train more Uzbek servicemen and even second military trainers to Uzbekistan if necessary, noting that Russia is ready to share experience, adding that the number of trainees must be increased not by a margin, but by many times.
