Uzbekistan Airways Technics will provide maintenance and repair services for Afghan aircrafts. The deal on this was reached during talks at the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Trade with Afghan Transport Minister Mohammad Hamid Tahmasi.

The increase in the volume of orders from foreign companies is due the recent launch with Boeing of the Composite Components MRO Center.

"The Uzbek aviation authroties will also help train Afghan aviation specialists," the ministry said. Uzbekistan Airways Technics, a subsidiary of the Uzbekistan Airways, has the necessary technical resources and personnel for providing all types of maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircrafts, with at least 10 aircraft of foreign airlines annually, mostly Russian and Kazakhstani, undergoing maintenance and repair at the facility.

Among the company’s main potential customers are the airlines of China, Iran, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and other CIS countries, which is unique in terms of its capabilities and is the only composite repair station in all of Central Asia.
