The Kyrgyz State Border Guard Service reported Saturday of an incident on the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border, in which a Kyrgyz citizen was killed.
According to the Kyrgyz border guard, a resident of the Kurulush village of the Aksy district which is in Jalal-Abad region, F.M., 33, was in the territory of Kyrgyzstan and was heading towards the Mamai village, when Uzbek border guards used gun against him. The man later died in a hospital in Kerben.
The border troops of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan reported that the incident occurred at about 7:30 in the border Mamai village which is Yangikurgan district of Namangan province, Uzbekistan.
The servicemen of the Uzbekistan border troops had to take measures to detain the border infringer, who did not obey the commands to stop and ignored the warning shots in the air, after which he disappeared into the territory of the neighboring country.
A source in the government of Uzbekistan said that a car was waiting in Kyrgyzstan for the man which picked him up and took to the hospital.
An investigated is being carried out on the scene together with the border officials of Kyrgyzstan with the involvement of prosecutors of the two countries.
