Today, all the countries of the Central Asia are facing the terrorist threat, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said during the meeting of the Central Asian leaders in Astana.

"I would like to highlight a number of key issues of our cooperation in the field of security."

"Firstly, it is necessary to continue coordinated and scrupulous joint work on further legal execution of state borders".

"I am confident that by taking into account mutual interests, through reasonable compromises and equivalent exchange, we will soon be able to completely solve this problem".

"I am genuinely convinced that our borders can and should become bridges of friendship and good-neighborliness".

"Secondly, today, all countries of the region are facing threats of terrorism, religious extremism, transnational organized crime and drug trafficking".

"The most effective way to counteract these challenges is through combining our efforts. In this regard, we consider it extremely important and urgent to continue practical interaction and swift exchange of operational information via law enforcement agencies and special services".

"Thirdly, the most important task is to counteract extremist ideology and to this end - bringing to the public, first of all to youth, the truly humanistic essence of Islam".

"In this regard, we established the International Research Center named after Imam Bukhari, the Center for Islamic Civilization, and the Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan in Uzbekistan".

"Fourthly, ensuring the stable and sustainable development of Central Asia is closely linked to the achievement of peace in neighboring Afghanistan".

"Realizing the non-alternative nature of the peace talks, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have come out with a joint initiative to hold an international high-level conference on Afghanistan on March 26-27 this year in Tashkent".

"We are very grateful to the Central Asia leaders for supporting this initiative, which is of great importance for our common interests".

"Fifthly, the creation of mechanisms of interaction in preventing and timely response to emergencies, man-made and environmental disasters, natural disasters, especially in the border regions".
