From February 26 to 27, Termez hosted a meeting of experts from water authorities of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, initiated by the Ministry of Energy and Water of Afghanistan, the Foreign Ministry reported.
The sides reportedly exchanged views on issues of n issues of protection of banks along the Amudarya river.
Suggestions were made for exchanging experience and organizing regular meetings at the level of officials of the Ministry of Water Resources of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Energy and Water of Afghanistan.
In spring , the likelihood of floods in the basins of the Syr Darya and Amudarya rivers increases. In 2017, 62 billion soums were contributed for protection against floods, monitoring of geological processes in Uzbekistan through aerovisual observations and ground surveys.
