In Uzbekistan, courts are now entitled to impose administrative penalties to diplomats for traffic infringements without the consent of diplomatic missions.
Earlier such consent was obtained via the Uzbek Foreign Ministry's diplomatic service (DS).
Instruction on application of administrative penalties to employees of foreign diplomatic missions and consular offices, as well as equivalent bodies accredited in Uzbekistan for violation of traffic rules has been amended, Norma legal portal said.
According to the new rules, if stopped, an employee of a diplomatic mission must, regardless of status, show all the necessary documents to the traffic officers (accreditation card, driver's license).
Diplomats ырфдд pay fines just as ordinary citizens (earlier - through cashier’s desk at DS).
