The delegation included Larsen & Toubro Vice President Rajan Bansal, Adani Group’s Special Envoy for projects in Uzbekistan Anand Kumar, and Reliance Industries’ Director for International Relations Mahesh Kumar.

The trip was organized in pursuance of the goals outlined at the Oct. 12 gov't meeting, chaired by the president, on attracting foreign investors to New Tashkent.

Management of the New Tashkent Directorate briefed the guests on the city’s development plans and investment opportunities. Discussions covered developing engineering and utility networks, setting up centralized heating, and building residential and non-residential complexes, large commercial facilities and modern shopping and entertainment centers.

The presentations placed particular emphasis on applying modern urban planning principles and deploying advanced technologies and international experience.

After studying the projects in detail, representatives of the Indian companies said they intend to prepare their own proposals on promising areas of cooperation. The sides agreed to continue talks.

During the visit, the delegation also attended the first meeting of the Fuel and Energy Sector Investors’ Council, chaired by the president. Reliance Industries’ Mahesh Kumar said the company is ready to cooperate on building solar power plants and deploying energy storage systems in Uzbekistan.
