Several major streets in Tashkent will face temporary traffic closures on Sunday, September 6, from 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM, according to the Center for Traffic Management.

The restrictions are scheduled to accommodate the Tashkent International Half Marathon, an event organized to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.

The closures will affect the following sections:

  • Islam Karimov Street – from Furkat Street to Sharaf Rashidov Avenue
  • Sharaf Rashidov Avenue – from Afrosiyob Street to Islam Karimov Street
  • Afrosiyob Street – from Islam Karimov Street to Oybek Street
  • Oybek Street – from Afrosiyob Street to Nukus Street
  • Nukus Street – from Oybek Street to Abdulla Qodiriy Street
  • Abdulla Qodiriy Street – from Nukus Street to Hamidulla Oripov Street
  • Hamidulla Oripov Street – from Abdulla Qodiriy Street to Mustaqillik Avenue
  • Mustaqillik Avenue – from Mirzo Ulugbek Avenue to Amir Temur Square
  • Streets surrounding Amir Temur Square – up to Bukhara and Shahrisabz streets
  • Alisher Navoiy Street – from Shahrisabz Street to Furkat Street
  • Batyr Zakirov Street – from Alisher Navoiy Street to Afrosiyob Street
  • The section of Ukchi Street adjacent to Batyr Zakirov Street
The sporting event features a 5-kilometer mass race and a 21-kilometer half marathon. Officials noted that traffic restrictions may be extended to adjacent side streets if necessary.
