President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has addressed the Uzbek nation congratulating the people on the New Year.
"I wholeheartedly congratulate all of you, our esteemed fathers and mothers, dear women, our youth, the entire multiethnic people of Uzbekistan on this wonderful holiday. I wish you good health, peace and prosperity".
"We have entered a new dynamic stage of our development. In 2017 in the Year of Dialogue with the People and Human Interests we spared no efforts to achieve our high goals. Despite some problems and difficulties, thanks to the selfless efforts of our people, in general the past year was a successful one".
"The most important achievement was the change in the state's attitude towards the people. Serving the people has become the main principle for us. People' confidence in the future has somewhta grown".
For Uzbekistan the year 2017 in terms of foreign affairs, especially in relations with neighboring countries, was a success.
"We named the new year of 2018 as the Year of Support for Proactive Entrepreneurship, Innovative Ideas and Technologies. - Now that we we are looking forward to a bright future, we should focus on these priority matters. This is the only right way, especially given the high competition in the world."
"In this regard, we have every reason to assert that the year 2018 will be decisive for Uzbekistan".
"In the new year, as before, we will focus on further raising the quality of life, real incomes of all segments of the population. The main task for us will remain the strengthening in the country of the peace and stability, interethnic and civil harmony. We will pay special attention to expanding ties with our fellow citizens abroad".
"I am sure that together, through hard work, we will achieve the goals that we have set for ourselves in 2018" the President said.
