Uzbekistan recorded a monthly deflation rate of 0.1% in July, the National Statistics Agency said in its latest report.

By comparison, consumer prices fell by 0.2% in July of last year. Annual inflation held steady at 6.4%, reflecting a notable deceleration from the 8.9% rate recorded in July 2025. Since the beginning of the year, consumer prices have risen by 3.2%, down from the 4.0% increase logged during the first seven months of last year. Excluding volatile fruit and vegetable prices, monthly core inflation stood at 0.4%, with year-to-date growth at 4.6% and the annual core rate at 6.7%.

Sectoral data shows that food prices declined by 0.9% over the month, though they remain 6.4% higher year-on-year—almost identical to the 6.5% annual increase seen in July 2025. Non-food items rose 0.3% through the month and 6.0% annually, down from 7.1% last year. Meanwhile, the services sector experienced a 0.5% monthly increase, with annual inflation in this segment dropping sharply to 6.6% compared to 16.3% in July 2025.
