The Chinor metro station on the Chilanzar Line will resume operations at 5:00 a.m. on July 29 following extensive reconstruction, the capital's metro press service announced.
The renovation expanded the station's entrance and exit areas, more than doubling the number of turnstiles from 6 to 13. The transit walkways, which previously caused bottlenecks and inconvenience for passengers, were also completely redesigned, metro officials noted. This redesign now provides a direct pedestrian connection between Chinor and the Kipchak station on the Above-ground Ring Line.
Previously, the station served an average of about 15,000 passengers per day. Following the reconstruction, its capacity has more than doubled, enabling the station to efficiently handle up to 35,000 to 40,000 passengers daily, the statement read.
The Chinor station originally closed for renovations on June 13. During the closure, a dedicated metro-bus service was deployed to transport passengers to the nearby Yangikhayot station.
