A massive BelAZ mining dump truck ran over an employee pickup truck at the Muruntau mine, operated by the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combinat (NMMC). Information regarding the accident began circulating on social media and was later confirmed by the company's press service.
The tragedy occurred at 5:30 AM on July 21. Two employees of the mining complex were killed in the crash.
Law enforcement agencies are currently conducting a preliminary investigation, while state regulatory bodies have launched an official inquiry into the cause of the accident.
NMMC officials noted that the enterprise's safety and oversight departments are taking additional measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
