A section of the ceiling collapsed at the Turon station on the Tashkent Metro’s Above-Ground Ring Line, sending debris crashing down onto the platform area. According to the metro administration, two passengers sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident and received immediate first aid on-site.

The incident occurred today, July 16, at 2:34 PM, prompting officials to temporarily halt train services at Turon station.

Technical experts are currently conducting a structural assessment at the scene and taking corrective measures to fix the identified defects. To accommodate displaced commuters, free shuttle buses have been deployed to run between the Qipchoq and Quruvchilar metro stations.

"The Tashkent Metro unitary enterprise sincerely apologizes to passengers for the temporary inconvenience and underscores that ensuring commuter safety remains our absolute highest priority," the company stated in an official release.
