More than 70 children in the Namangan province have undergone free heart surgeries, according to a report by the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.

The operations were performed at the Namangan branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Cardiology.

The report emphasized that such high-tech surgical procedures are conducted regularly across the province. For instance, so far in 2026, 850 children in the province have been diagnosed with onco-hematological, oncological, cardiac, and other severe illnesses. A comprehensive registry was compiled for these patients, and the state budget fully funded their surgeries and medical treatments. Currently, procedures are being finalized for the last remaining patients on that list.

According to the television channel, a presidential decree ensures that the state covers all treatment costs for children suffering from severe or potentially disabling medical conditions in Uzbekistan. Specifically, surgeries for oncological, onco-hematological, cardiac, renal, and hepatic diseases are financed entirely through government funds. To date, more than 10,000 children diagnosed with these conditions have undergone successful, free surgeries and have fully recovered.

Earlier, it was reported that a dedicated fund had been established to assist in the rehabilitation and recovery of children battling oncological and hematological diseases.
