A masked individual who stormed a bank in Samarkand and demanded money has been apprehended, and a criminal case has been launched against him, with the Security Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs announcing the arrest and posting the video footage of the crime.

On July 13 at 5:00 PM, the Samarkand Province Security Command Center received a distress signal from a bank located on Mirzo Ulughbek Street in the city of Samarkand. Rapid response teams arrived at the scene within three minutes of receiving the alert. Upon arrival, they discovered a person dressed in winter clothing with a mask concealing his face. Carrying a black bag, the individual was breaking windows inside the bank and demanding cash, claiming he was in possession of an explosive device.

Command center personnel immediately took control of the situation, swiftly dispatching an additional rapid response team, specialized police units, and emergency medical services to the scene. Security officers initially engaged the suspect in remote negotiations. Following the standoff, the perpetrator surrendered voluntarily and was taken into custody. Nobody was harmed during the incident.

An investigation revealed that the suspect is a minor who intended to secure a large sum of cash as a quick and easy source of income. A criminal case has officially been opened under Part 4 of Article 164 of the Criminal Code (Robbery with Assault).
