President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will travel to Astana on May 29 for a working visit, according to the head of state's press service.

The visit comes at the invitation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

During the visit, President Mirziyoyev will attend the upcoming meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Uzbekistan's capacity as an observer state.

The summit agenda focuses on further expanding multilateral cooperation within the organization, with participants also set to review priority areas for practical collaboration.

Several leaders have already arrived in Astana, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is currently in Kazakhstan on a state visit, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.

Meanwhile, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan previously announced he would skip the EAEU summit due to an ongoing election campaign at home. Armenia will instead be represented by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.
