Uzbek Prosecutor General's Office launched investigation into alleged mixing of donkey meat by a sausage processing plant in Tashkent. Joint investigation by the Tashkent city and Khorezm province branches of the Department for combating tax, currency crimes and legalization of criminal proceeds within the Prosecutor General's Office found that 69.6 kilograms of donkey meat was delivered from Khorezm province to meat company and sausage processing plant called Sharshara which was later mixed with other meat.
According to experts, the meat does not meet the health & safety standards.
Currently, investigation and operational measures are being carried out to prosecute the perpetrators.
