Uzbek Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Shukhrat Kholmukhamedov, visited Doha on May 21 to meet with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and State Minister for Defense Affairs, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani.
According to the ministry's report, the meeting centered on reviewing the latest security updates and developments across the region. Taking current geopolitical conditions into account, both officials discussed various facets of military cooperation and joint operational coordination.
The meeting concluded with the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on military cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar.
As a reminder of their growing diplomatic ties, Qatar established its official embassy in Uzbekistan in 2023.
