Uzbekistan has successfully completed its first-ever remote robotic surgery, the press service of the Ministry of Health reported.
The high-tech operation was performed by Abdurashid Abdukarimov, a specialist from the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Surgery, who was physically located in China during the procedure.
"Robotic surgery is not merely a modern technology; it is a harmonious fusion of human intellect, medical advancement, and digital progress. This minimally invasive method allows doctors to execute even the most intricate procedures with extreme precision, ensuring a much faster recovery time for patients," the ministry stated.
During the operation, a high-speed remote connection was established with a hospital in Wuhan, China. This digital bridge allowed the medical teams to coordinate and carry out the surgical intervention in real time.
