President Mirziyoyev signed the Measures to develop the livestock sector and pasture management based on modern management systems and innovative approaches Decree.
The Decree establishes the primary target figures for developing the livestock sector between 2026 and 2028. Key goals include raising the industrial processing rate of meat and dairy products to 50 percent and increasing the share of pedigree cattle to 90 percent.
According to the document, starting from the 2027 harvest season, farmers will be permitted to plant fodder crops on 50 percent of the land plots originally designated for cotton and cereal crops.
Furthermore, from July 1, 2026, to January 1, 2030, subsidies will be provided to households for every identified pedigree calf born to domestic cows.
Specifically, the financial aid includes:
- 500,000 soums for each pedigree calf obtained through artificial insemination.
- 700,000 soums for each pedigree calf obtained through embryo transfer (transplantation).
In addition, from June 1, 2026, to January 1, 2029, the import of pedigree cattle, sheep, and goats into Uzbekistan will be completely exempt from VAT.
