President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Feridun Sinirlioğlu Thursday.

During the meeting, the sides reviewed prospects for further developing cooperation with the OSCE across its economic-environmental, political, and human dimensions.

They noted with satisfaction the high level of open and constructive dialogue, as well as the steady strengthening of engagement between Uzbekistan, the OSCE, and its specialized institutions. The Organization's leadership regularly visits Uzbekistan, and OSCE/ODIHR missions actively participate in monitoring electoral processes in the country.

Special emphasis was placed on the successful outcomes of joint projects in countering transnational threats, reforming the judicial and legal systems, promoting gender equality, protecting human rights, and developing mass media.

The parties also highlighted the critical need to expand cooperation in priority areas, including combating cybercrime, advancing digitalization and artificial intelligence, upgrading professional skills, supporting youth, and driving the "green" agenda forward.

An agreement was reached to draft a new roadmap for cooperation and to host a series of joint events both within Uzbekistan and at OSCE forums.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on pressing issues on the regional and international agendas.
