A minor driving a vehicle struck three young girls at a zebra crossing in Kokand, the Fergana Province Police Department announced.
The accident occurred on Amir Temur Street at approximately 4:00 PM on May 20. The teenager, who was behind the wheel of a Malibu 2, struck the three girls—all born in 2016—as they were crossing the road.
One of the victims, M.K. tragically succumbed to her injuries and passed away in the hospital.
A criminal case has been launched against the driver under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Violation of traffic safety or vehicle operational rules resulting in the death of a person). The minor has been detained, and the investigation is currently underway.
