A criminal case has been launched against a teacher who assaulted a 9th-grade student at a school in Tashkent’s Mirzo Ulugbek district, the press service of the Tashkent Police Department (TPD) announced.
Reportedly, the incident, which was filmed, took place on May 19 at School No. 275. An argument escalated into a physical altercation between R.R., a minor student, 16, and Z.O., a teacher, 24. Investigations revealed that the student had refused to follow the teacher's instructions during class, thereby disrupting the lesson. During the ensuing confrontation, the teacher inflicted physical injuries on the student, prompting the victim to seek medical treatment at a hospital.
In connection with the incident, the Investigation Department under the Mirzo Ulugbek District Police Coordination Department launched a criminal case against Z.O. under Article 105 of the Criminal Code (Intentional infliction of moderate bodily injury). The investigation is ongoing.
Under this article, the perpetrator faces a penalty of up to 360 hours of mandatory community service, up to 3 years of correctional labor, 1 to 3 years of house arrest, or up to 3 years of imprisonment.
