Uzbekistan has officially approved new procedures for registration of individuals at their place of residence and temporary stay, the Ministry of Justice reported, citing a recent government resolution.

Under the new rules, registration requires the participation of both the property owner and the resident. Their mutual consent is verified digitally through Face-ID or Mobile-ID systems. Property owners who hold multiple real estates shall be restricted to being registered at only one primary residence.

For minors, registration is automatically tied to the registered address of their parents, a single parent, or a legal guardian.

Individuals are required to register at their new place of residence or temporary stay within 10 business days of arrival. Simultaneously, the property owner is responsible for notifying the authorized agencies of the registration. Applicants can complete this process in person through public service centers, authorized government bodies, or "smart" migration checkpoints. Alternatively, the process can be handled entirely online via the Unified Portal of Interactive Government Services (UPIGS) or the E-Xabar Berish system.
