President Mirziyoyev signed a decree aimed at bolstering energy efficiency across all sectors of the economy and social infrastructure. This initiative focuses on the widespread adoption of energy-saving technologies and the expansion of renewable energy sources.

For 2026, the country has set an ambitious target to save 4.3 billion kWh of electricity and 2.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas. These savings will be achieved through several key regional initiatives:

  • 2.6 billion kWh of electricity and 934.4 million cubic meters of gas will be saved by improving energy efficiency in private homes, apartment complexes, and public institutions, as well as by integrating modern energy-saving solutions into business operations.
  • 1.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas will be conserved by generating an additional 4.3 billion kWh of "green" energy via large-scale solar and wind farms.
  • 35 million cubic meters of natural gas will be saved by installing 270 MW of small-capacity solar photovoltaic plants in underserved neighborhoods (mahallas).
  • 1.6 billion kWh of electricity and 553 million cubic meters of natural gas will be saved through more rational energy consumption practices across 25 major industrial enterprises.
